    Well, I probably deserved it!
Woot! Yay! I've been waiting for this topic to come up officially.

    HK53

    G3A3

FN-FAL (para-short barrel) both with aimpoint & acog sights

M1 Carbine (para folding stock & pistol grip)

Mossberg 590 (full and folding stock)

    Benelli shotgun

    Winchester 1200/1300

(Note: The shotguns could have either ghost ring iron sites, aimpoint, or reflex sites)

pistol - Browning P35 (Hi-Power). {yeah, it's an oldy but a goodie, SA 9mm in normal and SD)

    FAMAS rifle

Okay, that should be enough to start. Give me a little while and I'll likely add more.

A couple of nice ones! But we already have an FN FAL 50.63 (para) - albeit with the SUSAT sight.

M1 Carbine with folding stock and pistol grip? Wouldn't you prefer the M14 EBR?

The FAMAS? Really? Must be the Legionnaire in you!

You're right on the FAL, forgot about that. It's setup for short distance correct?

I like the M1 and the M14 EBR....given a choice I'd like to have both!

The FAMAS is way way way optional. The first ones we had in had more jams than a Smuckers factory. I remember at one point I managed to get a few off the supply lists and trade them with a local arms dealer for some SLRs (semi-auto FAL) and a couple of Ithaca shotguns. The Ithaca was a NICE pump shotgun based on single rail design. Single rail means that after firing, you hold back the trigger and can pump the action again and again, each time it'll fire without an additional trigger pull. Most shotguns today use the double rail, which means a trigger pull after each pump.

The Ithaca was great in jungle vegetation, especially with a mix of #4 Buck, 00 Buck and slugs. The single-rail concept can't be duplicated in the game though.

I'm thinking about changing the Ghosts' rather 90's BDU to modern ACU (although I prefer the old uniforms). Anyone interested to see that happen?

I think that's a great idea! I also prefer the woodland pattern (and the desert tri-color as well as the chocolate chip to the new ACUs, but it would help modernize their look - especially with missions based on real-world scenarios.

Some options would be - ACU, Black, and grey (urban). I think we can script which uniforms are worn for each mission.

While we're on a wish list....what's the chances of getting desert colored vehicles? The v_* list covers everything from hummers to strykers to tanks, but they all seem to be OD Green. Some tan/coyote brown would be nice too.

(Yeah, I know what you're saying....this dude just wants and wants and wants.)

No, that's not what I'm saying! I'm saying... "This dude wants almost as much stuff for GR as I do!"

I don't think there is a way to script changing the uniforms (I'm pretty sure it's impossible). We are stuck with "standard", "desert", and "jungle" classifications for maps and corresponding outfits. The game looks at those three different tags and "dresses" the characters accordingly for each map. We could work with add-on mods (e.g. like the HARDCORE add-on already included in the X-TRAS folder) to change uniforms/characters, or there is the utility application solution again.

There is a limited number of desert colored vehicles designated v_d_* or d_* or desert_* - but we could definitely add some more by re-texturing the originals. This might be a job for Poema. (Where are you, Poema?)

I actually had a vehicle test mission laying around somewhere, in which I just placed all available vehicles on a map to have a look at them. Have to find it, though. We should do the same kind of mission for characters, btw. - so if you ever have too much spare time you could create a mission with all the .atr's on one map.

That's something I think I could do on the plane. It's gonna be an almost 18 hour day between the various stop overs and customs BS. The only limitation is whether the Panasonic can handle the graphics of that many vehicles/actors at once.

Hm... the polygon count on the vehicles and actors is quite low - there are much more complex weapon models in Heroes - with polygon counts equal to a whole convoy of vehicles or hordes of characters! So that should not be a problem. Don't feel in any way obliged to do anything at all, though! But if you really feel like modding on the plane - go right ahead!

Great idea Crash! That's one thing I liked about AA (the game). You had a selection of flash, smoke and frags...and could cook off a 'nade before throwing (but don't 'cook' a flash because it's only a 2 second fuse).

The police skins would be cool for some missions. I suggested black, because I thought that could fit both night and swat type missions, but police blue and sheriff's brown work too. Me, of course, would be deputy Fife with my 1 bullet in my pocket.

How about the AUS version of the Steyr AUG? The latest one that is with the picatinny rail for scope and with the M203 mounted?

Come on you guys! Police skins?!?! We are trying to stay true to the spirit of the original Ghost Recon here!

The flashbang and smoke grenades would be nice, but might be difficult to implement.

Steyr AUG A3 is another exotic for U.S. Forces, but hey... one can wish!

I'm not sure if the new mod contained this, but the F2000 is an awesome weapon and I would love to see it in the game. I would prefer the tactical version without the huge scope, but the weapon is accurate, well balanced, compact and has very little recoil. You can add a number of attachments, when needed, and it fires at a nice 850 RPM. There is also a Triple Rail forearm attachment on the way. Here are a few links:

I would also love to see the Aug A3 and the KRISS Super V (1200 RPM)

    You guys are awesome. Thanks!

Thanks, and welcome to the forums, Bottman!

OK, the FN F2000 I could see happening... but the TDI Vector/KRISS Super V?!?! Is that in military service or testing, at all?

Here's another thought....there's a bunch of skins mods already out there that change uniforms. I haven't tried a lot of them in years though. What are the chances of seeing if they are already compatible with HU? I can do the testing on that if you like, and we can add it to the read me file if it works.

Hm... I think testing the compatibility of other mods should not be a major concern for us here. One purpose of Heroes Unleashed is the successful combination of third-party assets INSIDE the mod - which is often difficult enough. I plan to include more skins for additional MP teams and specialists in the future, for example a squad of KSK, SAS, Navy SEALS etc. or single specialists from various military units. And new characters on the enemy or non-combatant side would be nice, too.

True, and I like that a lot. I was just thinking though that if we can't get permission to use ClownKlan's Circus skins mod files inside HU, and if that mod is so really really popular that *everyone* uses it, a small play test to see if that mod is compatible probably wouldn't hurt as it would be likely that a lot of players might want to use that skins mod with HU. That way we can say, here's HU and it'll work with the ever popular circus mod attached too.

    {{Apologies if there actually is a ClownKlan group or a circus skins mod out there somewhere}}

ClownKlan's Circus Skins! I love it!!! Have to do that one some day!

Hey, if there is a (skin or whetever) mod out there that everyone is using or you just love - by all means, check for compatibility and we can add a note in Heroes' ReadMe if you like. We could even offer compatibility add-ons for other mods (e.g. in the X-TRAS folder), for that matter - it's just that this will require additional time that I personally probably do not have to spare. But if you feel like it - why not?

Well, I *WON'T* be scripting a new mission scenario while in the middle of a firefight *just* because we made contact somewhere that reminds me of some map in HU. :devlish: I will, however, do what I can while unoccupied and game stuff will add to the story writing that I do. I use a solar charger to keep the batteries charged during the day and get get about 5-6 hours of laptop life if they're fully charged.

I can see it now -

*Launches 40mm and goes back to laptop. A shotgun blasts very close by*

"Hey guys, can you keep it down? This place reminds me of a desert siege mission and I'm trying to script a mission based on what we're doing right now!"
